Wine Folly #34Wines34Weeks Challenge: Week 2 - Crémant

Yesterday we continued with the Wine Folly #34Wines34Weeks challenge with a bottle of Crémant. You can read all about Crémant here. See below for our tasting notes.

Vitteaut-Alberti Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc Brut

Look: Deep yellow, watery

Smell: Hard to smell anything, honestly. Maybe faint notes of citrus. But not much on the nose for me.

Taste: Sweet with a medium-high acidity, low to none tannins, medium-light body. Picked up notes of sour raspberry, pineapple.

Food Pairing (from Vivino): Aperitif, poultry, lean fish, and appetizers and snacks.

Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté

Overall: I really enjoyed this wine. It's deep and rich. Not warm, light. It also wasn't sour, which I really dislike in white wine. It's an affordable alternative to champagne. And I think I will add a case or two to the closet for celebrations or aperitifs for dinner parties. Sydney and I poured cassis in our glasses after the tasting. Delicious.
